Sharjah24: Sharjah Press Club (SPC), which operates under the umbrella of Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), within its 13th Ramadan Majlis, organised, on Wednesday, at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, the third session under the title “Success in Entrepreneurship... Idea and Application,” in the presence of His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay, Director General of Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Her Excellency Alia Bu Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Asma Al Juwaied, Director of Sharjah Press Club, and the Majlis audience.
The session was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Juma Al Musharrakh, Executive Director of the Sharjah Foreign Direct Investment Office “Invest in Sharjah”; Fadi Ghandour, founder of Aramex and Chairman of Wamda; and Nawal Al Nuaimi, Emirati entrepreneur; and was moderated by the media personality Dr. Abdul Salam Al Hammadi.
The speakers agreed on the attractive investment environment that characterises the Emirate of Sharjah, supporting entrepreneurs and providing services guaranteeing projects success.
His Excellency Mohammed Juma Al Musharrakh stressed Sharjah keenness to provide different forms of support to project owners and create the appropriate environment to establish their businesses, through solidarity between competent government agencies and free zones to facilitate the investment process, and establishing specialised centres to facilitate procedures, such as Sharjah Investors Services Centre (SAEED), which aims to provide services to entrepreneurs under one umbrella that includes government services to investors.
Al Musharrakh pointed out the abundance of sectors that attract investment in Sharjah, such as agricultural technology, and wheat cultivation project in the Mleiha, in addition to different free packages in many sectors to support project owners, and provide free consultations to young entrepreneurs.
Fadi Ghandour stressed that the Emirate of Sharjah and the United Arab Emirates in general have many successful projects that have established its position in the business market. He also emphasised that any company’s global reach is built on foundations including attracting and developing talent, and consolidating the concepts of employees’ loyalty and ambition enabling them to have confidence in the company’s capabilities and implement plans that combine vision, correct leadership, and good management.
Ghandour pointed out that integration between the government and private sectors reflects on the success of projects. He also touched on his experience in establishing Aramex, the difficulties he faced at the beginning of the launch, how to overcome them.
Nawal Al Nuaimi, the Emirati entrepreneur, presented her experience in establishing the “Pepper Fig” project, launched in Sharjah, and the positive impact of government support on the project’s remarkable success, stressing that although studies and research are important pillars in establishing projects, passion, faith, and hard work, striving to overcome challenges form the basis of success.
Al Nuaimi, the inventor of the “Emirati flavoured hot chocolate” recipe, which she presented to visitors of the UAE pavilion at the World Economic Forum Davos 2023 in Switzerland, expressed her happiness in representing the UAE abroad and conveying its rich culture to the world.
Al Nuaimi agreed with the session’s speakers that continuous work and learning, and project development is key, which enhances its excellence and success.
The third session of the 13th SPC Ramadan Majlis was preceded by a poetry evening, during which the poet Nasser Al Wabir read a selection of his poems to the Majlis audience.
His Excellency Tariq Saeed Allay presented a commemorative shield at the end of the session to the participants and the presenter of the poetry evening. A shield was also presented to major stores for sponsoring the prizes presented to the third Ramadan session attendees.
The last session of the Ramadan Majlis, will host, on Thursday, artist Ahmed Al Saqqa and artist Qusay Khouli, in a discussion entitled “Art and Life... How does cinema affect people’s lives?”, moderated by media personality Reem Seif, in Al Majaz Amphitheatre, after Tarawih prayers. The session will also be preceded by a “Stand-up comedy” show, and attendees will have the opportunity to win valuable prizes.
