Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA) participated in the “Khattar Al Dar” activities organised by the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), as a volunteer opportunity coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan.
The elderly citizens gathered with family and friends, to consolidate the meanings of social solidarity and spread joy and happiness among the elderly in appreciation of their role in society, given the importance of this group, which enjoys great care and unlimited support in the Emirate of Sharjah.
His Excellency Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, confirmed that this event attracts government entities, institutions and individuals to communicate with the elderly and spend enjoyable times with them, to benefit from their experiences in life.
The Sharjah Fish Resources Authority was keen to participate in it based on its societal role and within its activities during the holy month of Ramadan, to draw joy on the faces of the elderly and to consolidate the principle of social solidarity. This participation also aims to enhance ways of cooperation with the SSSD.
Abu Ghazin explained that the authority’s participation revived beautiful memories among the elderly, especially about the fishing profession as one of the ancient and authentic historical professions that people used to practice to provide food, and to remind them of diving, pearl extraction, and sea life.
The authority also promoted some concepts related to diving and the Tawash profession, as it is one of the authentic professions, as an indispensable legacy, and presenting dialogue segments with the participation of Saleh Hamboulouh.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority pointed out that the authority’s participation also came to celebrate the achievements of the elderly, their generous efforts, their long experience and the lessons they provided to generations, and their role in consolidating the concepts of diving and the importance of adhering to these professions.
It also reflects the authority’s keenness to enhance communication with them and be close to them, especially in the blessed month of Ramadan, and to thank them for what they have established in our souls of love for science and work, and facing life’s challenges for the sake of our children and future generations.
