Sharjah 24: A recent report from the Sharjah Charity International has unveiled significant support provided to kidney failure patients. During the first quarter of this year, the association sponsored a total of 3826 dialysis sessions, amounting to 2.8 million dirhams in costs.
Of these, 1692 sessions were conducted at the association's specialised kidney dialysis centre, the first of its kind under a charitable organisation in the UAE, authorised by the Ministry of Health and Prevention. An additional 2134 sessions were covered by the association for patients receiving treatment in other hospitals.

This report coincides with World Kidney Day on March 14th. Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of SCI, highlighted the association's remarkable progress in delivering prompt and quality medical assistance to kidney failure patients. The Sharjah Charity Kidney Dialysis Centre, operating round-the-clock, conducted 1692 sessions during the quarter, exemplifying the importance of timely treatment for such patients.

Bin Khadem emphasised the association's commitment to assisting patients from the Eastern Region who cannot afford treatment costs. The association coordinates with nearby hospitals to cover the expenses of necessary treatment sessions. Furthermore, it extends support to financially disadvantaged patients receiving treatment elsewhere.

The association's humanitarian efforts align with its strategic vision, focusing on providing comprehensive care and assistance, especially in emergencies like kidney failure cases. Aid Committees meticulously evaluate and process assistance requests, while partnerships with relevant authorities ensure cost-effective treatment options for referred patients.

Bin Khadem expressed gratitude to supporters of the kidney dialysis treatment project, whose generosity significantly alleviates the suffering of many patients. He urged continued support to expand the project, accommodating more patients and enhancing healthcare services for those in need.
