SSC launches 'Pre-Iftar Sports' for health in Ramadan

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) introduced the "Pre-Iftar Sports Initiative," spanning 24 days throughout the blessed month of Ramadan (from March 14 to April 6). The theme for all Ramadan activities this year is "Health in Sports."
The event, supervised by specialised trainers, occurs from 5:00 to 6:00pm and engages diverse segments of the community. It unfolds in Sharjah, the Central Region, and the Eastern Region, encompassing activities such as warm-up routines, brisk walking, Pilates, and aerobics.

The council oversees activity places, including Al Majaz Park, Waset Protected Area Walkway, Al Hira Beach, Al Qarain Walkway, Maliha Biking Track, Sustainable City Sharjah, and, exclusively for women, Al Hizam Green Park, Sustainable City Sharjah, Shagrafah Park, and Al Homa Park.

In the Central Region, clubs supervise activities in Mleiha Park, Khorfakkan Beach, Ittihad Club Khorfakkan Hall, Al Batayeh Public Park, Sharjah public parks, Al Rahmaniyah Park, Al Madam Park, Fili Park, Dibba Al Hisn Fort Park, and Dibba Al Hisn Island. In the Eastern Region, locations include Khorfakkan Sports Club's self-defense hall, Khorfakkan Corniche, Khorfakkan Amphitheater, Al Adwani Tower, and others.

Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, underscores the event which aims to support the culture of daily sports practice. 

Dr. Yaser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, emphasises the council's special focus on the holy month and invites sports enthusiasts to participate in designated activity locations based on their interests.

Mohammed Ali bin Hammad, Head of the Government Communication Department, notes the new theme "Health in Sports,” highlights the importance of sports during the holy month, emphasising its general health benefits, particularly during Ramadan.
