Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club (SIMSC) appreciated the decision of the Sharjah Executive Council regarding the regulation and licensing of marine sports activities in the Emirate of Sharjah and the club’s responsibility for organising and supervising activities, licensing facilities, issuing training, diving and rescue permits, supervising the work of its affiliated facilities, and the numbers of jet skis for institutions, issuing number plates for jet skis and boats and identifying tools used for sport and recreational fishing in the emirate’s waters in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The decision also included regulatory legal provisions, including licensing requirements, prohibitions, maritime rescue activity, insurance, defining marine areas, conditions for using marine means, schedules of fees and violations, administrative penalties, and others.
Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, extended his deepest thanks and appreciation to the Executive Council headed by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, stressing that the decision will strengthen the club’s efforts and powers, and will also help it develop its performance and services for members, institutions and marine sports enthusiasts in the emirate He added that the decision specifies areas of coordination and cooperation between the club and all bodies concerned with its activities and events.
Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, praised the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council Director, aiming to support the marine environment and legislation related to its activities, stressing that it preserves the rights of all parties, including owners, individuals, companies and investors. He said that the club, since its establishment, has been seeking to implement the emirate’s strategy aimed at investing in the energies of youth and honorable international representation.
