Sharjah 24: Ali Mohammed Al Rashidi, Head of the Resources and Investment Sector at the Sharjah Charity International (SCI), announced that 8 smart donation screens have been prepared to be placed in a number of commercial centres.
These donation screens have more flexibility and ease that allow donors to place their donations quite easily, replacing traditional donation methods. In addition, they are equipped with a large number of easy donation methods, including donating via Apple Pay and Samsung Pay for mobile phones, scanning the self-donation code, and also providing the possibility of donating through credit cards, which benefactors can complete the donation process in simple moments with quick flexibility.

He said during his review of the SCI’s plan, represented by the Fundraising Department, to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, that 100 money boxes have been allocated to be placed in mosques and public sites during Friday and Tarawih prayers and prayers throughout the blessed month of Ramadan, out of a total of 8,205 money boxes throughout the year, varying in size between large, medium and small, to cover all the locations where the SCI is located and to suit the various segments of society.

100 volunteers were also selected to collect donations for Friday prayers, Qiyam, Tahajjud, and Eid al-Fitr, in exchange for 52 electronic coupon collectors, stressing that volunteers known for their diligence, credibility, and honesty were selected.

He pointed out that the Fundraising Department has 180 manual donation devices, for various allocated donations, where the donors can put the value of their donation inside, while the SCI provides donation booths and donation collection tables via the electronic coupon in commercial malls, stores, cooperative societies and shopping centres in various cities and regions of the Emirate.

He explained that the idea of electronic coupons is witnessing a great interaction and response from donors, as their systems are directly linked to the SCI’s main headquarters. They are considered one of the safest and easiest means of donation because they reduce the time of the donor and the recipient alike.

In the same context, the SCI provided 592 safes inside mosques to receive donations from worshipers in cooperation with the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah. It also placed 135 money boxes in addition to 98 donation machines inside a number of hotels in cooperation with the Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

He added that other than money boxes and coupons, there are other means of receiving donations, including website donations, text messages, smart links, credit cards, and bank accounts, as well as through the call centre 80014, calling on donors to interact and place alms through the available channels in a way that suits them, whether electronically or in paper form, to support the SCI’s campaigns in general and the Ramadan campaign in particular.
