Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) submitted a paper at the third virtual scientific conference on psychological research, concentrating on the success of the institution's counselling programme in assisting orphans with their rehabilitation from the effects of bereavement.
The paper sheds light on the counselling programmes offered and their influence on orphans, a group that requires additional care to recover from the repercussions of loss.

Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, commented, "The institution is keen to participate in such cultural forums to exchange experiences and learn about the most recent developments in the field of psychological support and counselling."

The conference allowed the institution to share its practical experience and scientific competence while also exploring a wide variety of modern and contemporary studies and research in many sectors of psychology and its applications.

She went on to say, "SS3EF values the psychological side and its function in maintaining family stability. The 'Overcome" programme attempts to assist orphans in overcoming the shock of bereavement and adjusting to their new lives with greater confidence, therefore achieving mental well-being. The institution's activities are focused on mentally strengthening orphans and supporting them in overcoming the impacts of paternal loss through specialised therapy approaches."

Regarding the foundation's research paper, she emphasised the importance of focusing on two critical topics: orphaned children, who are among the most vulnerable to psychological disorders and prolonged grief, particularly in childhood and adolescence due to the loss of family support, and the impact of applied programmes used to provide assistance and support in recovery from loss, as well as the importance of their development and use of various methods.

The conference's goal is to discuss and analyse the current state of psychology and its applications, to propose future solutions, and to discuss studies and research related to various psychological fields by examining current issues in these sciences and providing insights for their development, as well as to clarify the procedural steps required to implement these insights.
