Sharjah24: In line with its ongoing efforts to preserve cultural heritage and uphold the identity of the UAE and its rich folk heritage, Sharjah Ladies Club hosted a celebration in honor of “Haq El Leila” at Kunooz Events and Catering on the 22nd of Feburary, 2024.
The event welcomed 200 mothers and their children, who participated in a variety of activities that were designed for all age groups. These activities entailed exciting competitions, henna art, arts and crafts, candy making, and facepaint.
The attendees were able to witness a captivating stage program featuring a traditional dance showcased by students of Al Ahliya Private School, followed by a “Best Traditional Costume” Competition, which gave participants the opportunity to pay homage to the UAE’s cultural heritage.
The celebration also included an assortment of traditional Emirati games, ranging from hopscotch to sack races, and giveaways provided by Sharjah Ladies Club, IFFCO, and Barakat. Marasi Restaurant participated at the event through selling traditional Emirati food and snacks. The event had a vendor section, where Gonna Style and Sharjah Ladies Club - Al Dhaid Branch showcased and sold traditional clothing and gifts for the atatendees.
Nouria Mohammed Ali, Head of Membership at Sharjah Ladies Club, emphasized that the club is committed to preserve past traditions through organizing cultural events. She added, “the celebration of Haq Al Leila brings joy to families and children, while also allowing us to realize our goals of preserving heritage and promote tradition – something we are keen on doing.”
The event enjoyed a sponsorship from Barakt, as they gaveaway Fresh juices for the attendies. In addition, Iffco also sponsored the event by offering Gift Hampers for mothers that included a variety of IFFCO products and Ice Cream for kids.
