Sultan bin Ahmed honours winners of 8th 'Thank You' Award

Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, on Thursday, honoured the winners of the eighth edition of the “Thank You” Award for employees of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre.
This year's award was won by Fatima Ali Ghuloum and Sultan Mohammed Issa from the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority category, Mohammed Rashid Nazir from Al Sharqiya Channel from Kalba category, Tariq Essam Al Sayed from Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid category, and Najla Ismail Al Awadhi from the radio sector category. The honouring also included the direct officials of the winners.





Upon his arrival, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed toured the amateur exhibition held on the sidelines of the honouring event dedicated to the authority’s talented employees, as part of the authority’s programmes to support employees and motivate them to develop their hobbies and talents.

During the tour, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was briefed on the exhibition, in which a number of male and female employees of the authority participated. He learned about the various works it included that demonstrated the interests of the participants. 

The exhibition included multiple participations in drawing, handicrafts, sewing and embroidery, photography, colouring, Arabic calligraphy, collecting old and heritage collectibles, and artistic design.





The honouring ceremony began with a speech delivered by Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, in which he thanked and appreciated Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi for attending the ceremony, honouring the winners, and supporting all of the authority’s programmes.

He said: “Our celebration today is a celebration of achievements, sending a message of thanks to the makers of success who have contributed to the development of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and who provide a wonderful example of what an employee should be, as a role model for dedication and giving to achieve distinction and excellence.”






The Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority congratulated the honourees for winning this year’s awards, praising all the authority’s employees for their achievements and professional and ethical commitment, which contribute to the authority assuming a leading media position.

During the ceremony, the attendees watched a video that included short conversations with a number of employees at the authority in their workplaces, in which they expressed the award's importance. Employee Salem Al Tayyar also presented a singing segment, accompanied by musician Hamad Musa.

The “Thank You” Award, which was launched eight years ago, is considered one of the distinguished initiatives that work to motivate and honour the employees of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority for the honourable examples they have provided during their professional career, and a means of appreciating and rewarding the efforts made by employees in developing and improving work procedures and methods within the authority, and the effective cooperation with other government entities working in the same field.





The award aims to encourage employees to excel and self-develop in their diverse, technical and administrative work at the authority, and to exert all their energies and capabilities to provide better services with efficiency and high quality. In addition to highlighting and appreciating the work of the distinguished employees in the creative field.

The honouring ceremony witnessed the presence of Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary General of the Sharjah Media Council, Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, directors of the authority’s channels and radio stations, and a group of employees.
