He stressed that the meeting comes to appreciate and highlight the contributions made by entities and companies since the foundation’s inception and to serve as a role model and example for others, in order to attract more shareholders and philanthropists, which leads to an increase in charitable aid, especially in light of the crises, natural disasters and displacement that the world is witnessing.

He pointed out that the great impact of humanitarian work goes beyond traditional spaces to build human awareness among those who are deprived of the necessities of life by circumstances, so they in turn become proactive in helping and supporting others.

Concluding his statement, he expressed his pride in being a member of this foundation and its humanitarian envoy and being one of the contributors to the charitable work provided by the foundation. He highlighted that the subsidies and assistance provided by shareholders and supporters go entirely to the beneficiaries and the needy, with the government taking care of all administrative expenses in order to provide the largest number of aid around the world.

In turn, Mariam Al Hammadi, Director General of The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), thanked and appreciated all the foundation’s supporters and partners, including individuals and institutions from inside and outside the country, noting that the foundation has become one of the most prominent humanitarian work institutions in the entire world due to the continuous support and strategic partnerships that the foundation enjoys.

She said: “Today we celebrate the journey of ten years, and we are preparing for many years to come of giving and joint work, and of developing our strategies and ways of dealing with crises, disasters and human tragedies. We have learned during our humanitarian journey that crises put individuals and groups in a critical emotional state, so we are keen, through our continuous work, to convey our message to them, and tell them, we are with you, we stand by your side, we feel your pain, and you will not be alone in facing difficult circumstances, and that everything we do towards you is not a favour, but rather it is a natural right for you and a moral, religious and humanitarian duty on us and on all societies around the world.”

The meeting came on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the launch of the humanitarian and development journey of TBHF, which began in 2013 as a humanitarian campaign concerned with the issues of Syrian refugees. Today, its efforts, programmes and projects reach dozens of countries around the world, leaving positive impacts on the lives of millions in needy communities and places of asylum and displacement.
