SFD hosts its first financial forum for 2024

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Finance Department (SFD) hosted the inaugural financial forum for 2024 at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was attended by workers from 100 various organisations in the Emirate, including governmental, semi-governmental, and independent organisations.
Arwa Al Owais, Director of the Fiscal Policies Department at the Sharjah Finance Department and Head of the Financial Forum Team, stated that the department intends to organise a financial forum for Sharjah government workers quarterly.

The inaugural forum is part of the department's attempts to familiarise Sharjah government financial management staff with the most essential legislation, processes, projects, and financial systems that the department has adopted.

Huda Hassan Al Yassi, Director of the Financial System Department at the Sharjah Finance Department, stated that the department is looking forward to consolidating its distinct footprint in supporting Sharjah's government financial sector, as well as reaching new heights in terms of leadership, sustainability, and proactivity.

Dr Falah Al Husseini, Advisor of Studies and Researches at SFD, kicked off the forum by reviewing and explaining Executive Council Resolution No. 28 of 2022 regarding the new regulations for purchases, tenders, auctions, and warehouses, No. (8) for the year 2017, and its implementation mechanism, ensuring the highest level of transparency and achieving the highest standards of competition among suppliers, in addition to working on developing policies, procedures, technologies, and procurement systems to improve the financial and administrative performance of procurement.

During the forum, the Rasid Digital Platform (Digital Tracker System) was assessed, which is regarded as an exceptional model for successful digital financial platforms capable of improving development objectives, proactive control, and financial operations regulation in accordance with organised law. In addition, the Damin Digital Platform's targets and operating mechanisms were examined.
