In an interview with Sharjah 24, Valerio Soldani, the Italian Trade Commissioner to the UAE and Director of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) office, discussed the significance of the Italian participation in the show. "We are here with the Italian Pavilion to showcase the excellence of the Italian jewellery industry,"
Mr Soldani stated: "These 41 companies represent the best of what Italy has to offer, and we are confident that they will impress visitors from around the world."
The UAE is a key market for Italian jewellery exports, with annual sales exceeding $1 billion. Mr Soldani is optimistic about the future of the industry, predicting a 16% annual increase in demand over the next five years. "The UAE is a growing market with a sophisticated consumer base," he explained. "Our companies are well-positioned to meet the demands of this market, with their focus on quality, sustainability, and custom-made pieces."
