Dr. Khaled Al Salami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AFPD, led the group, which also included Fatima Al Sajwani, the Association's Secretary-General, as well as directors and executives from police operations and community police.
The visit is intended to strengthen the framework of collaboration between the association and the General Command of Sharjah Police. The discussions focused on best practices for improving services for individuals with disabilities, as well as familiarising participants with the association's aims and future plans.
Major General Shamsi emphasised the necessity of organising such meetings to improve collaboration with various institutions in the country, particularly those that serve people with disabilities. He commended the association's critical role in furthering the emirate's development process by creating a culture of empowerment and integrating people with disabilities into society, consequently improving their quality of life.
The visiting group thanked Sharjah Police for their warm greeting and praised the efforts made to improve security, safety, and the general quality of life in the community."
