Day 2 Sparks Excitement: Victories at West Asian Para Games

Sharjah24: Day two of the fourth West Asian Para Games at the Al-Thiqah Club for the Disabled in Sharjah was full of exciting highlights.

Notable Wins in Wheelchair Basketball for the UAE and Saudi Arabia:
The national team of the UAE secured a well-deserved triumph over Bahrain in wheelchair basketball with a scoreline of 54-39, while the Saudi national team claimed a valuable victory by overcoming the Iraqi team with a score of 56-49.

Achievements in Boccia Competitions:
Saudi athlete Ziad Al-Juhani clinched the top spot in the "BC3" category of Boccia competitions. Meanwhile, in the women's "BC2" category, Iraqi player Hanin Al-Maamouri attained the first position.

Competitive Badminton Matches:
The badminton matches witnessed fierce competition among all participants. Results included a 2-0 victory for Iraqi player Mohammed Jawad against Emirati player Jamal Khalifa Al-Badawi in the SWH1 category. Yemeni player Mohammed Ragab emerged victorious against Bahraini player Ruba Al-Amari.

In the MS-SH6 category, Iraqi player Emad Adel secured a 2-0 win against Lebanese player Reda Rizk. Jordanian player Mosab Al-Tawalbeh defeated his compatriot Ala'a Al-Qawasmeh with the same score. Saudi player Mohammed Al-Ali was declared the winner in his match against Yemeni player Salah Mohamed, who withdrew, but later faced defeat against Iraqi player Ali Al-Asadi with the same score.

Preparation of Local Teams:
Mohammed Fadel Al Hamli, President of the UAE Paralympic Committee, stressed that the championship is a pivotal phase in getting the teams ready for regional and global competitions. He highlighted that the UAE is engaged in seven major sports in the tournament.
