Sharjah 24: At the inaugural Al Dhaid Agriculture Exhibition, Etihad Water and Electricity (EtihadWE) showcased its expertise in providing cutting-edge, long-term solutions to support the UAE's agriculture industry.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Expo Centre Sharjah, and the Department of Agriculture and Livestock—Sharjah—worked together to host the event at Expo Al Dhaid from January 18th to 21st, 2024.

By taking part, EtihadWE is demonstrating its commitment to the UAE's national policy 2051 in the area of food security, which is in line with its own goals. Innovative water and power services are part of the company's mission to support local farmers.

Etihad Water and Electricity CEO Engineer Yousif Ahmed Al Ali said the company's participation at the exhibition was an attempt to meet farmers, learn about their needs, and rally behind their pursuit of sustainable, innovative agricultural services.

The effort by the UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to subsidise electricity costs for northern Emirates farm owners was brought to the attention of Al Ali, who emphasised that EtihadWE is actively seeking to launch initiatives and sustainable solutions to decrease groundwater wastage and increase reliance on desalinated water.

Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of Expo Centre Sharjah, handed an award to Etihad Water and Electricity on the opening day of the exhibition in recognition of the company's involvement in and support of the agricultural sector.

The Department of Agriculture and Livestock in the Emirate also commended the company for its role in this field.
