During the initial quarter of this year, the initiative involved visits to Al Qassimi General Hospital and Al Qassimi Women's and Children's Hospital in Sharjah. More recently, a delegation from the Friends of Kidney Patients Association, led by Her Excellency Mona Al-Hawai, the association's Chairperson, along with several board members, including Her Excellency Fatima Al-Mughni, Aisha Zayed, and Aisha Al-Muadhin, visited Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obeid Allah Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah, affiliated with the Emirates Health Services Foundation, on December 21, 2023. During this visit, the association's chairperson presented a check of AED 100,000 to support kidney patients facing challenges.
Al Hawai emphasised that the "Reassurance" humanitarian initiative extended throughout 2023 and is a crucial annual field initiative organised by the association to support and stand by kidney patients. It addresses their queries and needs closely, utilising official communication channels on social media. The initiative also aims to strengthen ties and collaboration with the country's healthcare sector, particularly kidney care providers, with the ultimate goal of fostering a healthy society free from kidney diseases.
She added that the recent visit to Ibrahim Bin Hamad Obeid Allah Hospital included a productive meeting with the hospital administration, led by Dr. Youssef Al-Tayr, the hospital's director. The meeting focused on exploring avenues of cooperation to enhance healthcare services for kidney patients and improve the overall quality of medical services provided to this patient group. The delegation also toured the hospital's kidney dialysis department, ensuring the smooth operation of medical procedures. Additionally, they offered psychological and moral support to the patients by distributing symbolic gifts, signifying the ongoing support and solidarity with them in their medical journey.
