Sharjah 24: FANN- Media Discovery Platform availed these greater creative platforms to participants in a series of events and workshops organised during this December, meanwhile, the FANN Media had earlier announced the completion of preparations for the launch of the “FANNTASTIC Winter Camp”, and the “Sports Photography” workshop through which benefits meant for the children and adolescents between average ages of 10 and 20 years.
All these come within the context of the FANN’s commitments aiming at supporting and promoting media and visual art among children and adolescents towards developing their capabilities and motivating them to unleash their energies and expand their imagination in all creative and artistic fields, as an embodiment of the vision of the wife of His Highness Sheikh. Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, aiming to prepare a promising generation be qualified to engage in the local and global intellectual and cultural organism.
The FANNtastic Winter Camp, scheduled to be held from December 19 to 21, included activities that hosted by the roles-playing stage at the FANN’s headquarters in Sharjah, where a variety of artistic and creative workshops have been displayed to essentially enable young people between the ages of 10 and 15 to show masterpieces of drama, learning the basics and skills of acting, physical and vocal expression, creating scenes, making, imitating persons, developing assimilation and taking after characters. Over the 3 days course period, children got trained on ways to explore text, learn the arts of creative writing, storytelling, learning basics of the art of improvisation, speaking fluently in front of the audience, and interacting with others and with the rest of team-mates to enhance their self-confidence and developing their viable competencies. All these matched in line with the goals of FANN Media Discovery Platform, which entirely focused upon the investment of children to help them express their different ideas.
The Sports Photography workshop, organised by FANN in collaboration with Nikon on December 21, aimed to train youth between 13 and 20 years old on sports photography techniques that differ from the regular photography process, ensuring that the recent one deals with moving scenes, and this technic could require special adjustment of the shutter speed in the cameras lenses to enable best pictures shooting for the players while running around the field. Through this workshop, hosted by Ajman Sports Club, FANN aimed to prepare and qualify students to interact with the ongoing active programme being seen at stadiums, enabling them to work under pressure in open areas and these might require from them move and think instantly while identifying proper snapshots.
Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director General of the FANN Media Discovery Platform & Sharjah International Film Festival for Children and Youth, ensured that the organisation is keen to create an integral creative and educational atmosphere to enrich fresh skills to children and young. Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah elaborated that: “through its various initiatives and events, FANN endeavours to adopt young talents and qualify them creatively and culturally by exploring their abilities, supporting and developing their skills using multiple methods that may contribute to enhancing their spirit of exploration and innovation, and contributes to providing intuitive platforms capable of facilitating them to express themselves and their own viewpoints and visions and in turn contribute to enrichment of the local cultural and artistic scene.” Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah also pointed out that the winter camp would provide children with exclusive opportunities that help them develop their imagination and invest in their physical and mental aptitudes to positively impact on them. Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah stressed that all workshops and events came within the framework of FANN Media Discovery Platform’s keenness towards transforming the learning process into an integrated experience that combined fun & benefits, including possibility of stimulating creative energies of children and adolescents in a variety of fields to performing media and visual arts.
It is noteworthy to conclude that the series of workshops and training courses organised by FANN Media Discovery Platform have been held under the supervision of a group of experts and specialists within a safe environment fit for encouraging children to unleash their energies and develop their personal competencies with aim to ensure acquiring a variety of training and experiences as required.
