Kairouan Arab Poetry Festival comes to an end

Sharjah24: The activities of the eighth session of the Kairouan Arab Poetry Festival were concluded. The event was organised by the Sharjah Department of Culture in cooperation with the Tunisian Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

The ceremony took place at the House of Wisdom in Carthage, in the presence of a large number of Tunisian and Arab poets, in the presence of Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Sharjah Department of Culture, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the DoC, and the poet Jamila Al Majri, Director of the House of Poetry in Kairouan.

The final day activities included a poetry night and a literary criticism seminar.

The participants confirmed that Sharjah is the Arab cultural movement drive, thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, expressing delight to His Highness for his grand support to poetry through an unprecedented Arab initiative represented by poetry houses.
