Sharjah24: The first-ever Khorfakkan Maritime Festival has concluded, bringing an end to a delightful ten-day celebration of heritage, thrilling maritime competitions, and captivating performances along the picturesque shores of Khorfakkan. The event was flawlessly coordinated by the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club.
The club organised a ceremony to honour the institutions and government entities that played a crucial role in supporting and participating in the event. Their ongoing efforts and commitment to preserving and safeguarding the Emirati heritage were recognised during the ceremony. High-ranking officials, including His Excellency Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Ahmed Al Housani, General Manager of the club, were present at the event, along with other distinguished guests and notable individuals.
Al Housani extended his thanks and appreciation to all the entities, partners, and participants. He highlighted that the festival showcased over 40 heritage and modern competitions. Furthermore, a wide array of traditional folk games, heritage marine shows, folk art performances, musical concerts, and popular food stalls and restaurants were also present.
He stated that the festival, in its first edition, had a great turnout from different segments of society, with a total of 33,000 visitors throughout its duration.
