Sharjah24: The Sharjah Charity International inaugurated its twelfth and most extensive medical camp at the Sharjah Charitable Medical Centre in Khorfakkan last Saturday. This initiative provides comprehensive initial medical examinations free of charge for families with limited means in the Eastern region. The event witnessed the presence of H.E Khamis bin Salem Al Suwaidi, Advisor of Sharjah Ruler's Office, alongside various dignitaries and residents of Khorfakkan.
This medical camp serves as a continuation of previous campaigns organised by the society across different areas of the emirate. It underscores the society's dedication to fostering a healthy environment for Eastern region residents with restricted incomes. Additionally, the initiative seeks to raise awareness about the Sharjah Charitable Medical Centre, inaugurated at the close of the preceding year, aiming to deliver healthcare and treatment services to those with limited incomes in the Eastern region.
Nasser Masoud Bilal, Acting Director of the Society in Khorfakkan, emphasised that the twelfth medical camp stands out as the largest in terms of both the number of beneficiaries and the range of included examinations. The camp offers screenings for early detection of breast cancer, examinations for geriatric diseases, a mobile dental clinic, eye examinations, screenings for blood pressure and diabetes, gynecological examinations, as well as the provision of medications and nutritional supplements for children. General medical and internal examinations are also available through collaboration with 16 partnering organisations. According to Nasser Masoud Bilal, the camp aims to examine over 1100 cases, reflecting a collective endeavour to enhance charitable efforts and fulfill social responsibilities.
