Sharjah24 - WAM: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) met with Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of Bahrain's Consultative Council (Shura Council), on the sidelines of the parliamentary meeting and the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), which is being hosted at Expo City Dubai.
The meetings discussed ways to activate parliamentary cooperation between the two sides in fields such as exchanging visits and parliamentary expertise and enhancing coordination and consultation regarding the latest developments during participation in Arab, Islamic and international parliamentary events.
The meeting also explored efforts to drive collective parliamentary work to combat climate change and achieve Sustainable Development Goals through legislative solutions that world nations can leverage, especially in the energy and climate action fields.
Ghobash highlighted the deep-rooted ties that the two countries share, noting that such bonds continue to grow through the friendship between the two leaderships and peoples.
In turn, Al-Musallam and Al Saleh congratulated the UAE on the successes it logged during its COP28, and the hosting of the parliamentary meetings as part of the conference, highlighting the UAE's great capabilities, excellence in organisation and the qualified UAE nationals who helped put all of it together.
Several FNC members attended the meeting.
