Sharjah24: The Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties (SCLD) is gearing up for the launch of the fifth edition of the "Exploration Project," scheduled from December 11 to 21 with the theme "Distinguishing Ourselves through Learning and Creativity." This initiative aims to raise awareness among students facing learning difficulties regarding their key challenges and how to overcome them, fostering their critical thinking skills. The project also seeks to equip them with effective skills, knowledge, and adaptive practices for various situations, alongside introducing diverse learning methods to aid decision-making and problem solving.
The centre disclosed that the project, designed for participants aged 13 to 22, is accepting early participation applications until November 30 via the following link: https://forms.gle/Y4w1yXq3ScDyrL116. It encompasses a range of activities, training workshops, and awareness sessions delivered by experts from the centre and the American Beacon College. These activities aim to empower individuals with learning difficulties with the latest innovative teaching strategies, and enhance their abilities to navigate challenges.
Dr. Hanadi Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties, stressed the centre's commitment to building upon the successes of the "Exploration Project" from previous years. The objective is to support individuals with learning difficulties, enhance their social and educational skills, and facilitate their integration into society. She anticipates a broad participation from students with learning difficulties this year, given the project's established reputation and the high quality of its annual events and programmes.
Dr. Hanadi Al-Suwaidi revealed that the programmes for the 2023 Exploration Project have been carefully curated in line with the best global practices. She confirmed that this year's programmes will be distinguished by their inclusivity and diversity, tailored to the evolving needs of students with learning difficulties, aligning with both current and future skill requirements.
The Exploration Project, offering participants accredited training certificates from the American Beacon - Florida University, assumes a pivotal role in supporting those with learning difficulties. It serves as a focal point for spreading awareness and scientific knowledge about the challenges faced by individuals with learning difficulties, while identifying the best local and international practices to address these challenges.
