Sharjah24: To promote the involvement of young individuals in the UAE's Energy Strategy 2050 and the National Hydrogen Strategy, the Rubu' Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators Foundation initiated an event named the "Hydrogen Challenge." The initiative targeted 100 participants, encompassing members from its affiliates Sharjah Youth and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, along with students from both government and private schools in Sharjah, aged between 13 and 18.
This event aligns with the global campaign against carbon pollution and the pressing necessity to embrace green hydrogen as a universal solution to climate change. The event agenda featured interactive workshops designed to educate young participants on the significance of sustainability, emphasising the applications of hydrogen in transportation. Additionally, participants were urged to take immediate steps in supporting the positive shift towards a clean energy era. This aimed to raise their awareness of sustainable transportation projects and inspire them to pursue specialised studies in fields such as sustainability, renewable energy, and hydrogen technologies.
Reflecting the role of youth in shaping a sustainable future, participants were divided into groups to compete in constructing, designing, and simulating hydrogen-powered vehicles using "LEGO" components, controlled through tablet devices. This approach sought to leverage the skills they acquired during the event.
In conclusion, the winning teams were honoured for their innovative projects, which contribute to environmental protection against various forms of pollution.
