Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWGA) is implementing a vital project aiming to extend main lines to deliver natural gas to a number of Kalba areas where natural gas did not reach in previous stages, with a length of 25 kilometers and a cost exceeding five million dirhams. The project comes in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of The Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, to provide the best services to the residents of the Emirate of Sharjah and to expand the implementation of natural gas network to all regions to benefit from the many advantages it provides.
Engineer Khaled Al Hosani, Director of the Natural Gas Office in the Eastern Region, explained that the areas that will benefit from the new project, in the northern side of the city, include the Kalba industrial area, At-Turaif district, and part of Soor Kalba. For the southern side of the city, Al-Saf area will benefit from the project, as the new project will support the old lines. It will contribute to developing the efficiency of the network, and through this line it will be possible to reach the entire areas of Al Ghail suburb.

Engineer Khaled Al Hosani pointed out that the project is being implemented according to the best technical specifications and with continuous follow-up by His Excellency Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEWGA, and His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, Director General of SEWGA.

Engineer Khaled Al Hosani stressed that the new gas lines will contribute to supporting the rapid expansion of the region. The gas network will be connected to 273 homes in the second phase of the Al SAF project, which is affiliated with the Sharjah Department of Housing. The gas network will also be connected to approximately 152 homes in the Turaif area, and the line can be used in the future by reaching most areas of the city.

Engineer Khaled Al Hosani added that the necessary procedures have been facilitated to enable subscribers to benefit from the natural gas network services, noting that SEWGA strategic plan is to implement natural gas projects in all commercial, industrial or residential areas of the city of Kalba, and the work teams affiliated with the Natural Gas Department, in the Eastern Region, are making every effort to ensure that this vital service reaches every subscriber and to make the most of the benefits of natural gas.
