Sharjah 24: The College of Communication at the University of Sharjah (UOS) has established a new research group titled the” Arab Digital Media Industry”.
The primary objective of this research group is to conduct scientific research that explores the digital technological transformation in the media environment, providing news insights into the opportunities and challenges in this field. The research group will focus on various areas, including digital industries, creative economy, digital divide, and media technologies.
Prof. Noha Mellor, Coordinator of the Arab Digital Media Industry Research Group, emphasized that the key motivation behind creating this research group is the rapid technological and media changes. She noted that most studies highlight that the digital sphere has maintained the offline hierarchal forms of economic and cultural power.
