A strong start of Sharjah Ruler's Camel Festival

The event, which will take place at the Al-Dhaid Camel Racing Arena till October 31st, is organised by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club.

The first day witnessed a great competition, including 38 rounds. The winner of Sharjah Ruler's Cup took home the 50,000 dirham reward.

Commenting on this, His Excellency Matar Ali bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club and the head of the organizing committee for the His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah Camel Festival, expressed his sincere thanks and immense gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his continuous and significant support to the club, camel enthusiasts, and heritage lovers. Additionally, he also lauded the launching of the festival which is held for the second year in a row at the Al Dhaid Camel Racing Track.

On the sidelines of the His Highness the Sharjah Ruler's Purebred Arabian Camel Festival, the activities of the Al Dhaid Heritage Village began yesterday evening, accompanying the second edition of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah’s Festival of Purebred Arabian Camel Racing, which is organised by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club on Al Dhaid Arena, with the participation of a number of institutions, government bodies and productive families. The event continues for six consecutive days.

The launch of the village activities was witnessed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, the Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, and H His Excellency Matar Ali bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, the Head of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Festival, in the presence of a number of sheikhs, directors of government agencies and departments, notables of the region, and a large number of citizens and residents.

The village includes many heritage and cultural events and activities that tell about the heritage and culture of the people of the UAE. It includes corners of productive families, corners of popular food, and pioneering talents in various fields, and a theatre for various events, popular military bands, and folkloric performances of popular dance.
