Sharjah24: The Sharjah Broadcasting Authority has revealed its acquisition of exclusive regional broadcasting rights for the updated version of the historical series "Abu Abdillah, the Prince of Granada" through a partnership agreement with the Spanish television network RTVE. This announcement was made at the International Content Market Exhibition in Cannes, France, where both parties formed a collaborative agreement enabling the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority to be the sole broadcaster of this historical series in the region. This is part of their ongoing commitment to deliver meaningful and entertaining television content to their broad audience.
The series, "Abu Abdillah, the Prince of Granada," comprising eight episodes, will soon be showcased on the Sharjah channel and the Maraya platform solidifying its place among the outstanding series presented by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority on its various channels and platforms.

This captivating historical series is set in the fifteenth century, a period marked by the fall of the Kingdom of Granada, one of the last Islamic kingdoms in Andalusia. The series delves into the lives of its final rulers, exploring a world of conspiracies, adventures, and battles. Filming took place in diverse locations across Spain, as well as in the Moroccan city of Fez.

The series' scenes meticulously capture the life and customs of that era, thanks to careful attention to detail in costumes, furniture, weaponry, battle sequences, and more. The production of the series involved a substantial budget and a considerable cast.

His Excellency Salem Ali Hamad Al Ghaithi, the Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, emphasised that this agreement with the Spanish television network would enhance cultural and media ties between the United Arab Emirates and Spain, reinforcing the authority's standing as a premier hub for media and entertainment in the region across its various channels.

Al Ghaithi added: "We are confident that this series will be warmly received and highly regarded by an eager audience interested in works that shine a light on important chapters of Islamic history. Our viewers will have the opportunity to enjoy an exceptional historical series that adds to our outstanding selection of series and productions available through the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority on its channels and platforms."
