Sharjah Government participates in GITEX 2023

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Government announced its participation in a number of digital projects and initiatives in GITEX Technology Week 2023, to be held from October 16 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
Sharjah Government provides a unified platform organised by the Supreme Committee of Sharjah Government Pavilion, which includes 11 government agencies that showcase 14 projects and initiatives.  The 14 projects and initiatives provide innovative, updated and new services that employ the latest technologies and adopt the best international practices, introducing a new concept for providing government services that emulates the emirate’s vision and leadership, which supports innovation efforts in the technological field.

In preparation for the participation of Sharjah government in this pioneering event, the Supreme Committee of the Sharjah Government Pavilion organised a preparatory forum for government agencies participating in the exhibition, in the presence of Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Digital Office, Chairman of Supreme Committee of the Sharjah Government Pavilion. The forum included an introductory workshop on the exhibition, followed by a workshop on the art of protocol.

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan said that Sharjah government has always been a leading partner in supporting technological progress in the UAE, and it is working to accelerate the digital transformation in the emirate in cooperation with government and private agencies. 

Sheikh Saud bin Sultan added that Sharjah Government succeeded based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, in making distinguished achievements in terms of adopting technology and innovation solutions, which ensures the best government services in the world, in line with the UAE strategy and ambitions, especially the goals of the UAE Centennial Plan 2071.

At the conclusion of his speech, Sheikh Saud bin Sultan noted that Sharjah government, through its participation in this pioneering exhibition, aspires to “communicate and exchange ideas with technology leaders from the region and the world to explore new horisons for developing the emirate’s digital infrastructure in keeping with the aspirations of customers, leading to a sustainable digital future and achieving the UAE’s ambitions to build a knowledge economy that competes with the best economies in the world and ensures the best life for future generations.”

Under the slogan “Towards a Sustainable Digital Future,” which embodies the Year of Sustainability and embodies Sharjah’s strategy towards digital life, Sharjah Government Pavilion will provide a distinctive interactive experience for visitors to the exhibition where they will learn about the innovations on display. Sharjah Government Pavilion will also hold a series of interactive workshops and sessions with local and international partners and experts to discuss the latest developments and trends in the world of technology, and ways to benefit from them to achieve greater progress and sustainability in Sharjah government services.

The list of participating entities under the umbrella of the Sharjah Government Pavilion in GITEX 2023 includes the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, the Sharjah Municipality, the Housing Department in the Emirate of Sharjah, the Municipality of Kalba, the Department of Planning and Survey, the Sharjah Antiquities Authority, Sharjah Tourism and Commerce Development Authority, Sharjah Finance Department, Sharjah Cyber Security Centre, Sharjah Islamic Affairs Department.
