Many entities took part in the forum such as the University of Sharjah, which participated with a group of its female students from the Community College with scientific academic posters dealing with the experiences of elderly services provided to them by the United Arab Emirates. The social policy for senior citizens, issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs and which is taught to female students within the Emirates Community and Social Welfare course, was also reviewed.
In addition to providing medical care and treatment at the university hospital, the Sharjah Health Authority also took part in the exhibition, which examined the services it offers to the elderly. The most significant of these is free insurance for parents of government employees.
Participants included the Sharjah Heritage Institute, Sharjah Airport, the Roads and Transport Authority, Align Medical Center, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which reviewed the law protecting the elderly in the Kingdom and the experience of empowering social centers concerned with the elderly with the non-profit sector.
The Elderly Services Center of the Department of Social Services in Sharjah also participated by presenting one of its initiatives, “Mishwar,” which is one of the innovative home social services for the elderly that meets the needs of the member.
