Sharjah 24: Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, one of the hospitals affiliated with the Emirates Health Services, has presented an innovative medical technology for use in treating heart diseases, represented by providing a s "Smart Headband" for performing catheter surgeries and treating arterial diseases. This prominent medical achievement is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East.
The new technology relies on "Smart Headband" that is mounted on the head, and features a camera and a headset, through which one can communicate with any doctor or surgical expert around the world. The camera works to photograph surgical operations with ultra-clear and high-resolution technology to broadcast the operations live and directly, while the headset enables communication with the doctor present remotely, and thus the expert is given the opportunity to see what the doctor who is actually performing the surgery sees in the hospital, allowing the doctor present remotely to live the experience of the surgical procedure as if he were present in the operating room.

With this new technology, it is easy to share, provide guidance, transfer knowledge, and perform surgical intervention in a safe and accurate manner, taking advantage of wide and different experiences across borders, which reflects the Emirates Health Services’ commitment to achieving progress and excellence in the field of medicine and health care, and strengthens its position as a leading center for innovative medical uses and advanced medical technology at the local and global levels.

Dr. Arif Al Nooryani, Director of Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah, stressed the growing interest in achieving innovative medical advancement and improving patients’ lives based on modern technologies while providing health care services.
