The Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival's audience gave it their "Audience Award for Best Nature Documentary," while the Florence Film Festival in Italy awarded it the "Golden Award for Best Long Documentary" during their fifth annual event.
This adds to the film's string of accolades at film festivals across the world; in June of last year, it won the Excellence Award for Best Long Documentary Film at the Accolade Global Film Competition.
The viewers of "Sir Bu Nuayr: Nature's Sanctuary" applauded the film, expressing their happiness at seeing endangered animals and plants. They were also appreciative of the sanctuary's staff, especially the Emirati ladies, who made no attempt to be anywhere except on Sir Bu Nu'ayr Island's enchanted wilderness and to care for its inhabitants.
The Director of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, was delighted to hear of the film's success at these prestigious international festivals.
With the help of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Emirate of Sharjah has been on a path towards sustainable development, and this award is a testament to the success of those efforts and the expertise of the people of Sharjah.
