Sharjah 24: The Transportation Department building of Sharjah Municipality (SM) is one of the sustainable buildings in the Emirate of Sharjah, with advanced and innovative solutions, whereas most of the building was developed and equipped using recycled materials.
The Transportation Department building includes sustainable solutions for employee offices and meeting rooms, where quality and beautifully designed chairs, tables, and suspended ceilings are made of old metal barrels and parts of cars; while the staff lounge is equipped with recycled materials, forming an artistic view that reflects the administration's work.
The administration staff converted old tires into tables and chairs for guests and fish ponds. The building also includes an indoor garden, two car washes for light and heavy vehicles, and a mobile workshop, all made of recycled materials.
