One of the outstanding achievements was the Municipality of Khorfakkan being awarded the prestigious Blue Flag. This recognition came as a result of their adherence to the highest international standards for preserving the coastal environment and ensuring safety and security measures. Moreover, they provided all the essential service facilities that keep pace with the Emirate's development, bolster tourism, and cater to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
Furthermore, the municipality successfully passed the first stage of the Green Flag award, demonstrating their commitment to sustainable practices. Additionally, they obtained several ISO certifications, including ISO 9001 for the Integrated Management System, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 18001 for occupational health and safety, ISO 10001 for customer service, and ISO 22301 for business continuity.
In a bid to foster innovation and creativity within the organisation, the Strategic Planning Department introduced an integrated electronic platform where all employees could submit their innovative ideas and suggestions, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
The municipality also participated in the "Khorfakkan Innovates" exhibition held at Expo Khorfakkan. During the event, they showcased their cutting-edge creation, the robotic assistant named "Amrani." It is the first of its kind in the country to utilise sign language, opening up new possibilities for communication and inclusivity.
Thirteen employees from the Financial Affairs Department successfully completed the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) training program. Simultaneously, seven employees from the Information Technology Department participated in the "Network Security" training program, enhancing the municipality's digital security measures.
Moreover, the Human Resources Department demonstrated their dedication to employee development by selecting 159 candidates for various training courses offered during the previous period. Additionally, the municipality provided training and mentorship to 31 individuals from universities and colleges, investing in the future generation of skilled professionals
The Municipal Operations and Inspection Department efficiently handled a variety of tasks. They processed 2,310 daily reports, addressed 12,035 violations, conducted 9,064 inspection visits, and issued 15 permits for commercial establishments. Additionally, they managed 127 subscriptions and issued 225 warnings to commercial establishments and 169 warnings to vehicles.
The Agriculture Department planted green areas alongside the public street in Al-Harai, covering an estimated area of 12,000 square meters. Additionally, the department planted date palm trees along the same street, enhancing its visual appeal and contributing to the city's green landscape.
The Dispute Resolution Committee, part of the Legal Affairs Department, settled 88 rental claims and effectively managed 58 execution cases, ensuring fair and efficient resolutions.
Finally, the authentication of 3,628 contracts was another achievement for the department. This included 1,305 residential contracts and 1,108 commercial contracts, promoting secure and transparent transactions for the community.
