Sharjah 24: Sultan Ahmed Al Zaabi, Member of the Khor Kalba Suburb Council, revealed that the council organised a summer community initiative, with the aim of reducing the impact of high temperatures on the residents of the suburb and Corniche Road visitors.
The Khor Kalba Suburb Council of the Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department of the Government of Sharjah organised, on Wednesday, a summer community initiative, in cooperation with the Fakhr Al Watan Association.
He said that the initiative aimed to distribute refreshments and juices at 4 points along the Corniche Road.
The activities of the initiative, witnessed the participation of more than 40 volunteers from the association, distributing refreshments to the residents of the suburb, road users, workers, and practitioners of walking and jogging along the road.
He added that the council is keen to organise such initiatives during the summer months, with the aim of reducing the impact of high temperatures on the people and bringing joy and happiness to the workers, in addition to upholding the values of social solidarity and promoting a culture of volunteer work.
