Sharjah Chess Club empowers girls during summer

Sharjah24: The Chess and Culture Club for Girls in Sharjah is launching the "Our Holiday is Different" camp, which will be held under the patronage of the Sharjah Sports Council. This camp is part of the club's summer activities and events and is in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The camp will run until August 10th and will feature a variety of cultural, educational, and chess workshops, as well as workshops focusing on innovation and sustainability. The camp carries the theme "Today for Tomorrow," aligning with the UAE's "Year of Sustainability."
The camp serves as a platform to attract future chess champions, with over 50 girls between the ages of 5 and 8 participating.

Her Excellency Najla'a Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Chess and Culture Club for Girls in Sharjah, emphasised the camp's numerous objectives, including the development of creative and cultural skills among children. The club collaborates with various government departments in Sharjah to organise workshops that foster creative and innovative thinking, while also instilling cultural values and promoting sustainable thinking.
