Sharjah Municipality organises inspection campaigns during Eid

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality announced allocating 293 inspectors to monitor markets and food establishments, monitor negative behaviours and take legal measures in case of breach, awaiting the advent of the blessed Eid Al Adha. Sharjah Municipality aims to provide an ideal environment for residents and visitors during Eid.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the Municipality of Sharjah, confirmed that the municipality has allocated 110 inspectors to intensify control over food establishments such as restaurants, bakeries, shops selling sweets and nuts; barbershops and beauty centres to ensure that htey adhere to health standards.

Al Tunaiji explained that Sharjah Municipaliy will increase the number of veterinarians in Sharjah slaughterhouse and will increase the number of working hours to follow up on the high demand for the sacrifice of livestock, whereas doctors examine the sacrifice before and after slaughter to ensure its safety and health.

The Director General of the Municipality of Sharjah stated that there are 183 inspectors who play an important role tightening control to monitor distortions of the general appearance.

The Municipality also warned against dealing with free-lance butchers as they pose a threat to health and hygiene of people and the community.


The inspection teams will also tighten control over shops and groceries to prevent the sale and circulation of fireworks as they pose a danger to members of society, especially children.

Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of the Municipality, noted that the public parking lots subject to fees will be free on the first, second and third days of Eid, with the exception of areas subject to fees throughout the week and official holidays, which can be inferred through the blue indicative panels. 

With regard to parks, Al Tunaiji stated that Sharjah parks will receive visitors from four in the afternoon until nine in the evening, while Sharjah National Park will receive visitors from 9 am to 11 pm, and at the same time Rolla Park will open its doors to the public.

The Director General of the Municipality of Sharjah indicated that Sharjah beaches are distinguished tourist destinations that will see a great turnout during Eid, especially in light of the summer weather that motivates the public to go to enjoy the cool sea weather. 

The call centre in the municipality of Sharjah will receive calls on the number 993, seven days a week and around the clock to receive requests, observations and communications from the public and deal with them immediately.
