The meeting was attended by SPEA’s educational advisor, Abdullah Al-Marzouqi, Aisha Al-Kindi, head of the National and International Tests Department, Maryam Mohammed, head of the Educational Resources and Contents Department. Latifa Al Darmaki, Deputy Head of the Cultural and Media Office, Fatima Mohammed, Head of the Media Production and Marketing Department, and Dr. Saeed Al-Amoudi from the family media team represented the SCFA’s cultural part while Marwa Al-Ansari and Abeer Al-Amiri represented the media side.
Al Darmaki began the meeting by emphasising the role of the cultural and media office in achieving the emirate's vision in the cultural aspect through events and seminars, and activating family media through Marami magazine and the most beautiful family platform.
Focus was centred on the recommendation of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, which is: developing a media education curriculum that starts from kindergarten until high school, in a scientific manner based on values.
The recommendation aims to educate the pillars and cornerstones of the educational process (school, teacher, administration) on the importance of media education, which means "how to deal with the media" through multiple applications, and perhaps one of them is the media education curriculum.
Among the expected results and desired goals after approving the curriculum for school students, are enhancing learning motivation and increasing media awareness to face digital and ethical challenges in particular, and build higher-order thinking skills such as critical and creative thinking and decision-making skills.
Al Marzouqi spoke of the importance of the cooperation with the Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, stressing the role of the media and its culture.
