Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) concluded the fourth parliamentary session of the tenth legislative term in its seventeenth and final session.
In four years, the council successfully managed to achieve countless accomplishments that dazzled everyone with its institutional and societal communication, which promoted renaissance and supported government departments' performance and development.
Chaired by Ali Mehad Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Council, the session began with ratifying the minutes of the sixteenth session, after discussing recommendations regarding Sharjah municipalities and the report received from the Committee for Preparing the Draft Recommendations.
The council discussed the items of the recommendations and highlighted several essential ideas included in the recommendations.
The council's recommendations suggested that Sharjah Municipalities Affairs Department plan for the future strategically, take proactive steps to enhance competitiveness, and work to find a systematic pattern for continuous improvement to unify and facilitate procedures and regulations among Sharjah's municipalities.
The recommendations called for establishing a unified electronic system between municipalities and promoting services provided in the smart application of Sharjah Digital Office.
The members' recommendations included raising Emiratisation rates in specialised technical fields, and finding replacement plans for jobs occupied by non-Emirati in Sharjah's municipalities.
The recommendations emphasized the importance of evacuating citizens' homes rented in residential neighborhoods, especially in the central region, to preserve the privacy of families living in those neighborhoods, from mixing with expatriates and their different customs and cultures.
It also called for issuing a guide for designing parking lots in Sharjah, introducing a new mechanism for deducting piled-up parking fines and deducting traffic violations.
The members concluded the discussion and approved their recommendations regarding Sharjah Municipalities Affairs Department.
Al Suwaidi delivered a speech in which he thanked all the council members for their tremendous efforts and all local government departments for their full response to the council's proposals and recommendations.
