Sharjah24:The Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock Resources (SDAL), in collaboration with other receptive local government departments, unveiled packages of services to aid productive farms in the Emirate of Sharjah at a press conference. The goal is to improve food security by assisting farmers with safe and long-lasting solutions.
During the conference, significant cooperation agreements were signed to bolster productive farms in the emirate. Dr Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Director General of the Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock (SDAL), Dr Sulaiman Abdullah Suleiman bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, Director General of the Sharjah Municipality, Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed, Chief Executive Officer of the Sharjah Asset Management real estate sector, Majid Salem Al Junaid, the Chief Executive Officer of the Sharjah Cooperative, and Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, Director General of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), came together to sign these vital agreements. The signing ceremony was attended by officials from supporting agencies, farmers, and other relevant stakeholders, all of whom demonstrated their commitment to supporting and nurturing productive farms in the emirate.
The agreements aim to develop the agricultural sector by supporting productive farms. Being one of the most important enablers of sustainable development in Sharjah, based on the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, aims to enhance livestock production, reinforce food security measures, increase access to nutritious food, promote sustainable farming practises, reduce administrative burdens for small farms, boost output without sacrificing quality, and inspire citizen investment in agriculture.
Dr Khalifa Al Tunaiji stated that the department is working with the enabling authorities to provide these services via the Sharjah digital platform.
