Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Racecourse hosted, on Sunday, the Fatamin (weanling-age) camel race competitions under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The event was organised and supervised by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club. The competitions included 20 rounds of the Fatamin (weanling) camel races for the tribes' camels, covering a distance of 1500 metres.
The results of the first-place winners in the race are as follows:
The first round "Khayal" was won by Mohammed Hamad Hamidi Al Kutbi, with a time of 2:8:64.
The second round "Shahin" was won by Saif Abdullah Matar Al Khasouni, with a time of 2:10:33.
The third round "Al Siyasa" was won by Saeed Saif Rashid bin Khasif, with a time of 2:9:16.
In the Open Race, the thirteenth round saw the victory of "Sura'a" owned by Hawaidan Obaid Sultan Fadel, clocking a time of 2:9:94. Harbi Salim Harbi Al Ameri's "Hamaloul" emerged victorious in the fourteenth round, completing the race in 2:10:61.
In the Challenge Rounds, the seventeenth round was won by "Mishaghbah" owned by Mubarak Khalafan Mubarak Al Kutbi, with a time of 2:13:52. The eighteenth round was won by "Shahin" owned by Ya'aruf Sagheer Mirkhan Al Kutbi, with a time of 2:10:72.
In a related context, the camel race competitions for Fatamin (weanling-age) camels were held yesterday, Saturday, June 3rd, at Al Rashidiya Racecourse in Al Bataih area. The competitions included four rounds for weanling-age camels from the tribes, covering a distance of 1500 meters. The results in the first places of the race were as follows: “Al Shahiniah,” owned by Shattit Saeed Al Ameri, with a time of 2:43:40, led The first round. The second round was won by "Shahin," also owned by Shattit Saeed Al Ameri, with a time of 2:38:16.
Matar Ali Bin Hawaidan Al Kutbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, confirmed that Al Dhaid Racecourse hosts weanling-age camel race competitions every Sunday.
