Sharjah 24: His Excellency Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the United Arab Emirates, was informed about Sharjah's experience and strategy in growing wheat, enhancing food security, and the sustainable projects undertaken by Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock in the agricultural and livestock sectors.
His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock received and welcomed His Excellency Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the UAE, wishing him success in his duties, stressing the keenness of the Department to consolidate relations of cooperation and joint work with all parties in the UAE. 

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium praised the joint cooperation between the two countries in all fields, commending the development of Sharjah's agricultural experience and vital and sustainable projects.

During the meeting, attended by the directors of the departments, a review of the efforts made in cultivating wheat, the success of the first phase, and Sharjah experience in developing and cultivating wheat was carried out. 

His Excellency Antoine Delcourt also listened to an explanation about the different projects undertaken by the department, whereas he pointed to the importance of exchanging the best international experiences and practices in the fields of agriculture and livestock. 

The delegation also watched the movie "Roots", which tells the story of returning to the land, and the importance of agricultural projects, which crystallised Sharjah's success in cultivating wheat with national hands.

His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, said that such visits enhance Sharjah's reputation and success with sustainable projects in the agricultural and livestock sectors, pointing out that the visit aimed to explore opportunities for cooperation, and to learn about Sharjah's experience in developing sustainable agriculture.

His Excellency Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji added that work is carried out according to the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, to achieve a clean agricultural strategy, to take advantage of the natural potentials available in Sharjah, and to transform them into sustainable agricultural and animal production projects.
