Dr. Khalifa Musabeh Ahmed A Tunaiji, Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock (SDAL), met with a delegation from the University of Bristol and the Royal Agricultural University in the United Kingdom, in the presence of Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), to discuss enhancing scientific cooperation and contributing to sustainable development in the fields of agricultural and veterinary research and technology.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Evelyn Welch of the University of Bristol, and Dr. Peter McCaffery of the Royal Agricultural University, and other high-ranking officials.

The gathering included discussions about exchanging experience in wheat growing, animal wealth, and methods to build sustainable agriculture and animal industries to help improve biosecurity and food security.

During the meeting, Al Tunaiji stated that the success of various food projects, as well as the continued development of agriculture and animal resources to meet Sharjah's demand for wheat and dairy products, is due to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Membwer and Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness advocates for the development of plant and animal resources, their contribution to the food security system, and the establishment of a policy based on modern scientific studies.

The two sides also discussed ways to improve scientific cooperation and create scientific competence in areas of mutual interest.
