Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Club (SSC's) Board of Directors dedicated the 2022-2023 season's sports achievements to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, his Crown Prince, deputies, and to Her Highness his wife, in recognition of their significant role and unlimited and continuous support to the club and its players.
Ali Salem Al Madfa lauded the efforts of the Sharjah Sports Club, the President and sports management, all supporting departments, and the players, technical, administrative, and medical personnel of the sports teams, as well as the support of the Sharjah Sports Council.
Board Member and Group Games Department Chairman for the Sharjah Sports Club, Mohammed Obaid Al Hussan, was effusive in his appreciation for the club's board of directors and the Sharjah Sports Council. He emphasised the team's dedication to fulfilling all success requirements so that the illustrious club may continue its unprecedented run of success.
Sharjah's handball team, the most decorated, swept all five titles in 2022–2023. They swept the three major trophies in the United Arab Emirates, including the Cup, Super Cup, and His Highness the Deputy Ruler's Cup. For the seventh year in a row and the seventeenth time overall, the handball team took home the General League Shield. To top off an incredible year, they also took home the Most Valuable Cup for the eighth time overall and the fifth time in a row.
Young stages have been sweeping the trophies as of late, taking home eight of the season's nine thus far. An incredible 13 titles out of 14 games were achieved by the youthful handball team. Add it to the 13 championships out of 14 games played by the youth handball team this season, and you have a truly remarkable and unprecedented accomplishment.
Despite intense competition from four excellent teams this season, Al Hussan said the board of directors is committed to helping the basketball teams and meeting their needs. The men's basketball team began the season by repeating as Union Cup champions and going on to compete in the final of the President's Cup and the playoffs of the General League. The juniors, cadets, and youth all made it to the league and cup finals, while the youth team won the General League Championship and finished as cup runners-up.
The director of sports administration emphasised the need to maintain and redouble the club's previous successes.
