AQU organises 1st Scientific Research Forum

The event was held on the University's stage in the presence of distinguished guests, the University's Director, members of the College Advisory Boards, Deans of Colleges, Deputy Director, and Faculty members.

The first Scientific Research Forum, themed “Pioneering Scientific Research, Collaborative Discourse, and Progression," aimed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and achievements among participants, promoting academic and scientific research that meets global standards to serve the University and the community.

During the ceremony, Jamal Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University, honoured the faculty members who won the University Award for Scientific Research, Teaching, and Service to the University and the community. He also recognised the students who received the Sharjah Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research in recognition of their outstanding research achievements.

The ceremony began with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Then, Dr. Awad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, delivered his opening speech, expressing his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, for his constant support and wise guidance that have contributed to the University's remarkable progress and distinguished achievements at the regional and international levels.

Al-Khalaf stressed that the Scientific Research Forum is fully committed to upholding its slogan of "Pioneering Scientific Research, Collaborative Discourse, and Progression”. Its ultimate goal is to foster excellence, reward innovation, and promote the university's vision of becoming a beacon of academic excellence and multiculturalism.

During the presentation, the strategic plan of the university for scientific research was unveiled, which includes the establishment of a Scientific Research Council and the creation of a unit for research and scientific publishing to elevate the value of cultural diversity and its contributions to the university community. Additionally, several specialised peer-reviewed scientific journals covering various fields of knowledge were launched.

The attendees were then treated to a visual presentation showcasing the efforts of Al-Qasimia University in promoting a culture of research and scientific publishing in renowned global publications, as well as their participation in the Sharjah International Book Fair and other similar events.

Moreover, the university's president and forum guests toured the accompanying scientific exhibition, where they were enlightened on the research projects and academic publications of faculty members from various colleges and centers within the university.
