Sharjah 24: The Sharjah School Theatre Festival will kick off on May 1 and runs until the 18th of the same month.
Fawaghi Al Fardan, a member of the Media Committee of the Sharjah School Theatre Festival, announced the participation of 61 schools from different cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah in the tenth edition of the festival, noting that 26 schools are participating from the city of Sharjah and presenting their works at the Sharjah Institute of Theatrical Arts.
She added to "Sharjah 24" during the press conference held by the Theatre Department at the Department of Culture, on Wednesday that the Central Region is represented by 11 teachers in the festival who present their performances in the Al Dhaid Cultural Centre, while 24 schools are representing the Eastern Region at the Khorfakkan Cultural Centre.
She further explained that the festival seeks to achieve a number of goals, on top of which is the promotion of national identity, the desired educational values in the educational field, and the development of the role of parents in motivating their children to participate in such theatrical activity, in addition to dedicating the role of theater as a means to raise students’ level of education efficiency.
