Sharjah24: Sharjah Sports Club swept the Omar bin Haider Karate Championship, taking home seven of the twelve trophies across the kata and kumite competitions held at Kalba Club and Dubai's Al Mizhir Hall, respectively.
In a tournament with 85 male and female competitors from 7 clubs, the club swept all kata categories (men, youth, women, junior males, and females).
More than 140 male and female players from 9 clubs competed in the kumite competitions, and the club took home youth and young adult medals for both genders.
Board member and head of individual sports at the Sharjah Sports Club, Eng. Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, commended the team on its outstanding performance, calling it "a further development of the series of successes" the club has had in recent years.
He expressed his appreciation to the Sharjah Sports Council for its unwavering commitment to individual sports and its willingness to provide everything that is needed.
