Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Council of the Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department, warned of the dangers of drugs on society and their negative impact on the health of individuals as well as their impact on families.
This came during the Ramadan Majlis organised by the Al Hamriyah Council at its headquarters in Al Hamriyag in the Emirate of Sharjah, and it dealt with the topic of the dangers of drugs, in cooperation with the Al Hamriyah Comprehensive Police Station of the Sharjah Police.
In its axes, the lecture called for society to unite with families, led by parents and all educational and media institutions, to work jointly to enhance awareness of the harms of the drug and its devastating effects, and to uphold the importance of security, safety and crime prevention.
Lecturer Ahmed Shaker Al Balushi from the Anti-Narcotics Department stressed the importance of the role of parents in the first place in bringing up children on the right path and preventing drugs from reaching them, and educating the public about its harms and risks.
The lecturer touched on several axes, including the definition of narcotic substances, the causes of abuse, the health and physical harms of drugs, their impact on society, and ways to prevent them, in addition to shedding light on the role of the family in drug prevention.
At the end of the lecture, the Chairman of Al Hamriyah Council, the Vice-Chairman and the members honoured the lecturer and thanked him for his efforts that benefited the people of Al Hamriyah in raising awareness of the dangers of drugs.
