Sharjah24: Within the framework of its continuous keenness to consolidate the principles of cohesion and giving in the blessed month of Ramadan, Sharjah Islamic Bank (SIB) is organizing two Iftar tents in the city of Sharjah. The first is next to the King Faisal Mosque, and the second is on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, next to Aldhiya'a Mosque. Both tents provide Iftar meals for about 60,000 people fasting throughout the holy month.
Providing approximately 2,000 Iftar meals daily in two locations
Hassan Al Balghouni, Head of Corporate Communication at Sharjah Islamic Bank, said: "The SIB has been keen to organize and implement the Ramadan Iftar initiative for over 18 years. This comes within the framework of its social responsibility and affirms the values of compassion and the principles of social solidarity. The SIB provides about two thousand Iftar meals daily. In addition, two air-conditioned tents characterized by cleanliness and organization are fully equipped for lighting, electricity, air conditioning, and security and safety equipment."

He explained that the SIB employees and collaborators supervise the organization of the Iftar tent, which is located near the King Faisal Mosque. In cooperation with Sharjah Charity International, the second Iftar tent is situated on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, next to Aldhiya'a Mosque.

Achieving Islamic values and principles of social solidarity
Hassan Al Balghouni, indicated that the Sharjah Islamic Bank is keen to continue organizing Iftar tents in the two locations to meet the population's needs.  Through the charitable project, the bank confirms its role in achieving Islamic values during the month, and for his consistent approach to supporting charitable work.

He stressed that the Iftar meals are prepared according to a high standard of health and hygiene. Meals are from accredited restaurants and are varied to meet the needs of those fasting.

Allocating charitable initiatives in accordance with the values of goodness and tolerance
In addition, during the holy month of Ramadan every year, Sharjah Islamic Bank is keen to support accredited charitable initiatives that serve the largest number of individuals.  This is based on the SIB's commitment to implement the principles of social responsibility and according to the values of goodness and tolerance. For the fourth consecutive year, the bank has supported the Ramadan community initiative, "Mirak at your doorstep", in cooperation with the Sharjah Charity International and the Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department, to prepare food baskets.  The initiative involves the distribution of 4,000 food baskets containing all the basic food essentials to the needy families in the UAE.
