The department confirmed its preparations, as it built 15 new mosques as part of its plan to open 20 mosques at the end of the month of Ramadan, in different regions of Sharjah.
Abdullah Khalifa Al Sabousi, Chairman of Islamic Affairs, confirmed that the department has prepared the Ramadan programme to include all Sharjah cities, suitable for all segments of society.
Al Sabousi explained that the department, in coordination with the Holy Quran Radio in Sharjah, broadcasts the "Sharjah Reciters" during the month, as Tarawih and Tahajjud prayers are broadcasted from 30 of Sharjah's most prominent mosques through the department's social media platforms.
The department organises daily lessons across Sharjah's mosques on the jurisprudence and etiquette of Ramadan and interpretation of the Holy Qur'an. In addition, it organises 30 lectures and 3 workshops in government departments and bodies through "Zoom" app, on the jurisprudence of Ramadan.
The department also allocated several mosques for non-Arab communities, where these given lessons will be in English, Urdu, and Malaybari.
In cooperation with Sharjah Noble Qur'an and Sunnah Establishment, the department holds memorisation sessions (Qur'anic circles) in Sharjah mosques.
Al Sabousi stated that the department had developed programmes to broadcast lessons and lectures through its official Twitter, Instagram, and WhatsApp accounts.
After fulfilling all conditions, the department has issued permits to entities and individuals wishing to set up iftar tents.
In cooperation with the Sharjah Blood Transfusion Center, "Sharjah Islamic" organises donation campaigns in several mosques in Sharjah after Tarawih prayers.
