Today, ten years after the centre's founding, it celebrates its most significant achievements, including the day its culinary team took over all kitchen operations from a third-party vendor; hosting its thousandth event, welcoming its one-millionth guest; receiving more than 200 culinary awards locally and internationally; solidifying its position from hosting events to an event organizer; offering workshops in cooking, hospitality and event management, and launching outside catering services and takeaway orders.
On this occasion, Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi stated that “Commemorating a decade of existence of one of Sharjah's prominent landmarks and icons of progress constitutes a momentous occasion in the developmental journey of the emirate, undertaken under the visionary directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. These landmarks beautifully reflect Sharjah’s journey of growth and its ambitious aspirations, while simultaneously strengthening the emirate’s position as a distinguished investment destination in the region as well as a capital of books, culture, and knowledge.”
She added: “Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre (JRCC) has demonstrated a remarkable ability to aptly portray Sharjah's distinguished status locally and has also carried it beyond the UAE to reach the region and the world by offering its world-class platform for the hosting of prestigious local and global events. On this occasion, we congratulate Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre’s different departments for their outstanding accomplishments over the past decade and express our gratitude for their unwavering commitment and diligence in ensuring that JRCC remains one of Sharjah’s and the UAE’s leading destinations for the world to meet.”
In a review of the centre’s journey over the past decade, Al Jawaher's Chief Executive Officer, Hanan Al Mahmoud, stated, "We are proud of the remarkable 10-year journey of Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre." She continued: "During this time, we adhered to our institutional values, beginning with quality in which we strived to achieve excellence by following best practices and standards in the field of events and hospitality; we spread the value of respect by dealing fairly with all parties; our keenness to provide exceptional experiences through which we created unique services that exceed customer expectations. We also made it our goal to focus on teamwork , through which we are able to achieve excellence, commitment to integrity by spreading honesty, fairness and the highest ethical standards; finally, we believed that focusing on people by appreciating strong relationships and partnerships a guaranteed path to success".
She also added: "We have also been successful in maintaining a low rate of employee turnover, an achievement that is remarkable given the challenges of working in our industry and indicates that we have provided an attractive work environment and earned employee loyalty. We believe this is the foundation of our success and motivation that helps us achieve our mission of providing distinguished luxury hospitality services to clients both inside and outside the centre."
Future Plans:
In preparation for the next phase of its development and to achieve its goals, Al Jawaher's management updated its annual strategy and plans, reaffirming its vision as the ultimate destination for memorable events and premium catering services. The company also set out a mission to provide customers with stellar-quality products, services and facilities delivered by their team of experts.
The "Courtyard by Marriott Sharjah" hotel project, which was on hold due to delays brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, will also resume as Al Jawaher will construct and run the hotel, which is anticipated to be finished in the upcoming years, in accordance with a cooperation agreement signed with global brand Marriott International.
In order to share the benefits and experiences with the community, Al Jawaher has developed annual plans to coordinate several partnerships with sister institutions and to present a number of workshops in various disciplines, such as hospitality, event planning, and cooking. All local governments and other organizations are also given access to these workshops.
It is continuously developing and updating its offerings, such as its menus. takeaway orders, hospitality services provided inside or outside the halls, and support for the Events Management Department's services for all internal and external events, to get ready for its upcoming phase. to satisfy client needs and give them the option of indoor halls or outdoor events, Al Jawaher is also looking into a proposal to designate an external site for events.
Despite unforeseen setbacks, Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre has consistently advanced over the past ten years. It is distinguished by its high-quality equipment and integrated solutions to host and organize all types of events, meet the requirements of the sectors of meetings, conferences, exhibitions, weddings, and public celebrations, and provide the finest hospitality services, under the supervision of a specialized team of experts who are distinguished by their eagerness and desire to meet customer needs.
